Tunisia › Building the Export Capacity of Tunisian Entrepreneurs (CAP-X)
Funded by the US Department of State, the CAP-X project aims to boost Tunisian handicraft exports by providing technical expertise to 50 artisan entrepreneurs and 250 rural artisans. The project linked artisans with US buyers, strengthened business capabilities, and helped modernize payment methods and national policies. Key results include training 50 entrepreneurs, creating 54 international buyer relationships, identifying 3 sales agents, and developing 200 new craft concepts through various workshops and programs.
Key Achievements:
Trained 50 Tunisian artisan entrepreneurs in product development, design, business readiness, and export readiness, with 26 now fully prepared for export activities.
Established and strengthened 54 relationships with international buyers through participation in two major international tradeshows.
Created 200 new craft concepts tailored to international consumer preferences through two international product design development workshops.
Identified 3 viable sales agents and achieved total sales of $44,328.75, enhancing market reach and business growth.
Strengthened connections with the Central Bank and Tunisian Government Ministries to modernize international payment methods and contribute to national policy improvements for the artisan sector.
