Mexico › Alianza Crecer Juntos - Sitalá
The Sitala Alliance Project aimed to enhance living conditions in Sitalá, Chiapas, by implementing a comprehensive, inclusive model focusing on health, nutrition, food systems, water, income generation, and citizen participation. The project engaged with 46 localities and 1,103 families, delivering a range of activities including municipal forums, community training, and health campaigns. It significantly strengthened local organizations and initiatives, contributing to improved community infrastructure and sustainable development in the region.
Key Achievements:
Formed and recognized the Association of Water Patronages (APAMS) and expanded the collective brand "Bats'il Lum" to include craftswomen, coffee, and honey producers.
Established and autonomously operated the "Mercadito Solidario" in Sitalá, involving 52 participants.
Reinvested 32 microcredits granted to women, along with microcredits from 3 material banks, expanding to a total of 6 material banks in the municipality.
Implemented a health strategy with 8 action lines, including deworming and vaccination campaigns for 2,550 children, and provided water supply infrastructure to 100% of families in 8 localities and 73% of families in 3 additional localities.
Strengthened food production by vaccinating 58,000 poultry, establishing fruit trees in 827 families, and conducting 5 vegetable planting campaigns with 488 families.
