The “Artesanías de Puebla: Idea + Materia” project aimed to enhance Puebla’s artisan sector by establishing a strong operational base, increasing international exposure, and improving product quality. The project successfully showcased twice Puebla’s crafts at the NY NOW tradeshow, establishing the region as a notable source of handmade products and initiating international buyer contacts. Key achievements include the completion of 27 artisan design workshops, producing export-quality products, and ongoing support through business skills training and community promoter follow-up.

Key Achievements:  

  • Developed a baseline for monitoring and evaluating artisan conditions, analyzing their initial economic, social, and productive status.

  • Conducted 27 artisan design workshops, resulting in products of export quality.

  • Initiated and continued business skills workshops, enhancing artisans’ abilities to manage and grow their businesses effectively.

  • Successfully showcased twice Puebla’s artisan products at the NY NOW tradeshow, establishing the region as a prominent source of handmade goods and initiating international buyer contacts.
