The “Value Chain Mapping for Key Products in Lesotho’s Creative Industries” analyzed the wool, mohair, and basketry sectors, developing a plan to transform Lesotho’s artisan sector into a viable industry. The research, which included 395 key informant interviews, identified the need for a central organization to coordinate training and market access. It emphasized the importance of formalizing MSMEs through a business incubator program and highlighted the necessity for a local wool and mohair processing facility to improve product quality and create job opportunities. The report detailed gaps and challenges in the value chains and provided recommendations for enhancing sector viability and sustainability.
