India › Jammu & Kashmir Flood Recovery Project
Beginning in January 2021 we implemented the "Art-X Kashmir" consultancy to enhance business opportunities and marketing skills for four artisan clusters in Jammu & Kashmir under the World Bank-funded Jhelum & Tawi Flood Recovery Project. The initiative trained master artisans in papier mâché, embroidery, willow wicker, and wool, who then passed on their knowledge to colleagues, and aimed to sell their products in the US market with the help of three Domain Experts Organizations (DEOs). By the project's end, each artisan cluster developed a 3-Year Business Plan to ensure sustainability and success in both the export and local markets.
