South Africa › Expanding to Export Market Access Program (MAP)

Expanding to Export MAP prepared South African entrepreneurs in the creative sector to successfully enter the rapidly evolving U.S. Retail Handmade market. Over eighty participants attended the eMarket Readiness Program online gaining knowledge on the U.S. handmade market and strategies for reaching their target audience while networking with industry experts. Ten selected participants joined the Business Intensive Coaching, applying lessons through small group and one-on-one coaching, and took steps toward export readiness. Additionally, we shared recorded trend presentations and resources with all South African creative businesses via their e-learning platform.

Key Achievements:  

  • Completed eMarket Readiness Program for 86 entrepreneurs

  • Completed 4 one-hour small group coaching sessions for 79 entrepreneurs

  • Provided 4 one-hour one-on-one coaching sessions for 10 entrepreneurs as part of the Business Intensive Program

  • Developed a 6-month action plan for each of the 10 businesses
