FREE signed a grant agreement with Prospero Zambia to form and train three new artisan groups in Zambia's Western Province, focusing on creating export-ready products in basketry and brooms. We provided sector-specific inputs, including onsite training by a basketry designer, to help develop two new product ranges and a marketing strategy for Kupanga Global, the partner responsible for global market access. We also offered guidance on branding, pricing, and eCommerce development to prepare Kupanga Global for competition in international markets.

Key Achievements:  

  • Designed two product ranges 1) of baskets and 2) of brooms  

  • Trained representatives of the groups to produce the designs  

  • Developed a marketing strategy for Kupanga Global, in order to prepare them to compete in the global marketplace.
